About Our Church

Our Vision & Mission

Our church vision is simple

Sharing Jesus with the world, one relationship at a time.

Our mission is to…
          • Love God
• Love People
• Make Disciples of All Nations

Beliefs & Purpose

We cooperate with other Christian churches of all denominations to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.  We cooperate with other like-minded Baptist Churches to send missionaries around the world through the “Cooperative Program”.

We believe that each person can speak to God directly, without the need for a preacher or other spiritual church leader.  The spiritual leadership of our church has been called to be “servants” to our congregation’s spiritual needs.

We believe that salvation is an individual decision.  Church membership, good deeds or any morality will not save one’s soul.  Only a public decision and confession of Christ as personal Savior is acceptable to God as evidence of true faith.  We encourage every person to make a decision at the conclusion of each worship service.  ( John 3:16-18, Romans 10:9, Romans 14:11-12 )

Our Beliefs & Values

Southside Baptist Church is a local, autonomous body of believers. That means that we answer to and are accountable only to God himself. There is no denominational organization who “runs” our church. We make our own decisions under the guidance of the Holy Spirit here in our local congregation.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is who the Bible says He is: the Messiah, the Son of God. We believe there is no other way to be saved and have forgiveness of our sins without faith in Jesus Christ. We encourage you to read the Bible, specifically the Gospel of John, and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you. Remember, God loves you and wants to help you in your life!

Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word given to people to help us know and worship HIM. The Bible contains the story of how we got here, what is wrong with our world, and what is going to happen in the future. The Bible contains everything we need for salvation and eternal life. Contact any of our church members or pastoral staff if you have specific questions about the Bible or what it says.

Eternity

We believe that every true Christian believer immediately goes to be with the Lord at the end of life. (2 Corinthians 5:8, Philippians 1:21-24, 1 John 2:17, John 11:25-26)
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and is the only way to be saved and go to Heaven. We believe in His life, death, burial, and resurrection from the dead just as the Bible describes

(John 3:16, John 8:12, John 1:14, John 6:35)

Who We Are

Our Team & Leadership

Our goal is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ within our church, community, nation, and world. It is to reflect Christ in all aspects of daily living through an emphasis upon total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ.

Our mission (as stated above) is to love God, love people, and make disciples of all nations.

Peggy Bowers

Peggy Bowers

Administrative Assistant

Peggy fills many roles in our church family. She works very hard to see the gospel of Jesus Christ spread into the world using the tools God has provided and the gifts in which she is blessed. Not only does she keep our church organized, she is a wonderful gardener and Bible teacher. When not in the church office, she is spending time with her precious grandchildren.
We believe in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
